Job Description
- Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wirelesses.
- Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues to ensure optimal network uptime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
- Lead network-related projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address network issues and implement appropriate solutions.
- Communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Mentor and train junior team members.
- Implement and deploy hardware and software solutions in the data center environment.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies outside of regular business hours, if required.
Requirements
- In-depth understanding of Routing protocols (e.g. BGP, and OSPF).
- In-depth understanding of Switching VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel, and CoS.
- Strong understanding of Wireless Networks (e.g. MikroTik).
- Strong understanding of VoIP technologies (e.g. Asterisk).
- Strong understanding of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g. Zabbix).
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Robust network topologies and protocols experienced in a large complex environment.
- Strong understanding of network security (e.g. firewall configurations).
- Proficiency in server hardware, operating systems, virtualization technologies, and networking protocols.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g. Python).
- Experience with automation tools (e.g. Ansible).
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, preferably in the ISP/WISP industry.
