Job Description

The objective of the role:

  • To monitor the execution of all announced policies, regarding sales, distribution, and customer service in the branch, by the use of proper planning to ensure, coverage, profitability, and achievement of agreed volume and targets.

Job Specific Accountabilities:

  • Ensure delivery of pre-agreed SKU distribution targets, by implementing and managing sales and distribution strategy in his/her region to maximize coverage cost-effectively.
  • Deliver on company sales volume targets by effective planning, and controlling sales
  • activities including inventory and accounts receivable in his region to ensure monthly targets are met.
  • Secure long-term volume and distribution for his territory (region) by monitoring branch activities to sustain distribution operation stability.
  • Secure customer service parameters by submitting regional volume forecasts as per demand forecast cycle and process to contribute to supply chain efficiency.
  • Manage accounts receivable by implementing the company credit policy to ensure a level of credit exposure in line with the company budget.
  • Maximize distribution efficiencies by delivering agreed numeric and weighted distribution targets in his / her region to ensure regional market share objectives are met.
  • Deliver volume/revenue and distribution targets, by executing sales strategy and design activities/programs in his region to maximize return on investment and ensure acceptable business growth is achieved.
  • Monitor that at the point of purchase impact is being created on consumers by effective deployment of suitable POSM material to support brand above-the-line initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure consistent competitiveness of brand mix by analyzing the competitor activities of retail and commodity and suggest suitable actions, to maintain brand volume, hence, the market share.
  • Train, coach and appraise the sales leadership team to ensure they are motivated and capable of performing their roles.
  • Plan and supervise the implementation of the department’s projects to ensure that the project cycle is completed, meeting agreed-on project parameters (cost budget, timelines, scope, and quality), standards, and objectives.
  • Recommend an optimum organizational structure for the department so that resources are optimally utilized and communication can efficiently take place.
