Job Description

Mission:

  • To manage, analyze and prepare different analytical reports on retail and carrier revenue for MTNIrancell.
  • To ensure compliance of MTNIrancell to tax and regulatory requirements based on revenue reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • To make sound recommendations and judgments toward products, tariff development, and implementation, business planning, budgeting-enabling of various systems as well as delegations of authority and payment authorization.
  • To ensure optimum performance of switches and MGW (Media Gate Way) in billing function and operation area in collaboration with NWG, ITS, and Business Operations.
  • To collaborate with Legal & Regulatory and relevant statutory bodies to manage MTN Irancell’s statutory compliance and mitigate related risks.
  • To interact with MTN Irancell’s audit committee, and internal and external audit functions to achieve adequate composition for the implementation of standards and policies.
  • To collaborate with various teams in Finance to implement requirements of GAAP and IFRS.
  • To drive MTN Irancell’s initiatives related to revenue within the company and review of loss leaders as reflected in the financial reports generated.
  • To drive revenue recognition on complex structures, and partner with the business organization in line with RA and A&R teams.
  • To put processes in place to evaluate financial impact assessments of products, carrier relations, and revenue share agreements and tariffs.
  • To review and approve business’s implications of products and tariffs, and monitor implementation and testing on enterprise and billing systems.
  • To develop and manage the implementation of cost allocation methodology for carrier-related pricing.
  • To ensure accuracy of revenue reporting from tax compliance and regulatory requirements point of view.
  • To review and analyze all company revenues, cost of sales, and discounts/commissions to gross margin in order to validate the details and check the evidence associated with gross margin changes in reporting to high managers.
  • To review and reconcile inter-carrier (Interconnect, Roaming, and value-added services) agreements, billing, reconciliation, and payments.
  • -To ensure compliance with MTN Group and MTN Irancell’s policies, all International and Local accounting standards, quality, deadlines, policy, and reporting requirements and also to identify non-compliance in existing policies, errors in reconciliation statements, and collection lapses and advise/support relevant parties for corrective actions.
  • To plan and implement reconciliation and control mechanisms for revenue recognition and reconciliation.
  • To define and ensure revenue, bad debt, and stock PPPs are up to date.
  • To review and authorize revenue share agreements, and calculations and authorize payments to value-added service partners.
  • To contribute in interconnect rates (peak and off-peak) and commercial terms with local and international operators.
  • To segment products’ profitability to provide MTN Irancell’s executive committee with a sound basis for making crucial decisions e.g., deleting a segment.
  • To make gross margin-related inputs into MTN Irancell’s business plan and board papers by reviewing the specialist’s review, test, and feedback on MTN Irancell’s business plan (budget) based on empirical statistics.
  • To ensure all bad debts and obsolete provisions are raised as per financial standards, MTN Irancell’s policies, procedures, and standard working instructions.
  • To conduct relevant revenue verification and assurance in association with the Business Risk Management division.
  • To manage the preparation of various revenue reports including revenue to gross margin reports.
  • To manage revenue stream identification from various income sources in collaboration with commercial teams and provide related reports.
  • To ensure the team’s knowledge and skills are abreast with the world’s trends via providing an adequate level of training.
  • To arrange meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established practices, implement new policies, and keep employees abreast of current changes in practices and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Financial Management, Accounting
  • CA Certification/ MBA / Masters is Advantageous
  • ACA or other relevant international professional qualifications (CIMA, CPA, ACCA) are advantages
  • At least 5 years of experience in Finance Management; with at least 3 years in Telecom
  • Working experience across diverse cultures and geographies is advantageous
