POSITION SNAPSHOT

Location: Tehran - Islamic Republic of Iran;

POSITION SUMMARY

  • To prepare financial reports and other related information or documentation for fiscal and tax audits while managing the relationship with tax authorities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

  • Prepare all the documents/defense letters and other communication relating to income tax, VAT rental tax, salary tax, and social security organization assessment in consultation with a tax consultant.
  • Prepare local financial reports in Farsi by local standards.
  • Monitor statutory books and local bookkeeping, Reconciliation of ERP vs. Local system monthly and yearly with local books in consultation with a tax consultant
  • Ensure tax and SSO compliance for different functions within the organization
  • Mitigate tax risk and optimize tax saving.
  • Response queries and advice about tax and SSO regulations and laws where it is requested.
  • Revision and submit VAT Return/Tax Return to the Ministry of Finance in consultation with a tax consultant.
  • Prepare seasonal reports including sales, purchase, import, and export, and submitting to MOF in consultation with a tax consultant.
  • Check and advise on SSO deductions applied on suppliers’ invoices (with and without contracts).
  • Liaise with suppliers to get relevant letters and documents on time to submit the SSO Settlement certificate.
  • Quarterly revision of different tax provisions to cover potential risks on income statements.
  • Prepare an update on changes on various tax and SSO issues concerns to NIR
  • AD-HOC reports whenever the situation demands.
  • Direct debrief of the country controller and regional tax manager on status updates (current open items, risk, provision, defensible amounts, next steps, etc.).
  • Quarterly revision of different tax provisions to cover potential risks on income statements.
  • Provide frequent updates on changes in various tax laws and legislation and communicate to relevant NIR internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and provide training on tax issues NIR is facing to relevant departments and follow up to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Participate in audit (internal and external) – Nestlé, statutory, tax/fiscal.
  • Assist the team in any other finance/tax-related issues.

Requirements

  • Ability to control on-time closing of tax audits.
  • Ability to control the quality and timeliness of the deliverable’s submission (financial statements, analysis, and reports).
  • Ability to control limited additional tax payments.
  • Ability to give feedback to the chief accountant and tax lead.
  • Ability to give feedback to other departments (sales, supply chain, legal, etc.).
