Job Description
The chief accountant is responsible for:
- Ensuring a proper keeping of all accounting and fiscal books required by the local fiscal laws.
- Supervising the necessary accounts reconciliations (e.g. sales, cash, bank accounts, etc.).
- Confirming intercompany reconciliation and reporting accuracy (according to the group closing schedule).
- Preparing and controlling the supplier payments.
- Ensuring that the statutory accounts are produced according to local accounting rules and filed in a timely manner.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
- Ensuring that all the tax declarations (company tax, VAT) are done and paid in a timely manner.
- Calculating transfer pricing and making sure that all transfer pricing legal filings are done in a timely manner.
- Supporting external auditors' request for the statutory audit.
- Be responsible for monthly/yearly closing in our group’s accounting system as well as in the local accounting system.
- Assisting Finance Business Partner and BU management on reporting of figures;
- Preparing VAT refund files and managing the process.
- Supervising AP and AR accounts of the parent company with its business partners in Turkey.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related fields from a reputable university.
- Strong knowledge of Local GAAP - German GAAP would be a plus.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Accounting software experience, and knowledge of SAP BW - Reporting would be a plus.
- Fluency in verbal and written English.
