- The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the information systems’ databases.
- The DBA provides technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems.
- Additional responsibilities include reporting, data input and output, technology management, and end-user training and support.
- DBA will be able to function effectively with limited oversight and moderate on-site training. They should understand the importance of database integrity in terms of both efficiency and security.
- DBAs are employees who work with technology, using specialized types of software to store and organize a company's data.
- DBA makes sure that data is available to users, and that it's kept secure from unauthorized access or accidental loss or corruption.
- A professional database administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and front end accessibility for end-users. They will be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.
- In addition, Database Administrators are analytic problem-solvers and communicators who are fluent in most data manipulation languages.
Requirements
Experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2012+.
Experience managing databases. Proficiency in database administration, management, data imports and exports, and developing reports.
Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications
Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools
