Job Description

  • Database preparation in Petrel software.
  • Static models update of several fields (Asmari and Bangestan group, clastic and carbonate, faults and fractures, GOC and OWC) based on new data (drilling of new wells) or reinterpretation of existing data (seismic, petrophysics, attribute analysis, regional study, DFN, etc.).
  • Analyze existing models and solution preparation for improvement.
  • Geological support during drilling (steering).
  • Geological programs preparation related to the G&G part.
  • Geological completion reports preparation related to the G&G part.
  • Dynamic interpretation together with the geophysics team (attribute analysis, seismic facies analysis, reservoir properties prediction).
  • Well proposal based on results, justification, and evaluation before and after drilling (together with geophysicist, petrophysicist, RE).
  • Supervise and technical management of projects performed by other contractors related to geology study.
  • Identify and quantify geophysical/subsurface uncertainties technically and commercially influencing the decision-making of investment (for development and exploration).
  • Define potential oil-in-place prospects for appraisal and development campaigns.
  • Prospect evaluation and ranking by both geological and geophysical evaluation.
  • 3D geomechanical modeling (will be a benefit).
  • Interact with the client, partners, and contractors in terms of geology activities.
  • Prepare reports on the results of work, and presentation materials.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Geophysics, or Geology.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Geology and static modeling with knowledge of Geology (exploration, regional geology, static modeling, well placement) and related subjects (basic of Petrophysics, Seismic interpretation and attributes analysis, EFAC study, etc.).
  • Experience in carbonate fractured and clastic reservoirs static modeling, complicated structural modeling.
  • Experience in regional study and facies modeling: fields analysis, sequence stratigraphy, regional modeling, sedimentology, facies modeling, EFAC/FZI modeling.
  • Experience in petrophysical modeling: trend modeling, different approaches analysis, DFN modeling, core-log analysis and correlations, core-core analysis for petrophysical modeling (phie, permeability, saturation).
  • Experience in OWC definition and justification (including DST analysis, XPT and log interpretation analysis).
  • Able to integrate different subsurface data required for analysis such as wells, surface and operation data.
  • Experience in planning and project management.
  • Able to communicate and defend a position internally and externally with management, other disciplines, client and contractors.
  • Experience in working in a multidisciplinary field development team.
  • Knowledge of Petrel.
  • Not less than Upper-intermediate English.
