Senior Telecom Project Manager (IT & BSS)

Job Description

We are seeking a senior telecom project manager with a strong IT background to lead high-impact projects, focusing on Telecom IT systems, particularly within the BSS domain. The candidate will oversee Managed Services contracts, ensuring alignment with stringent SLAs, and lead the implementation of Telecom IT architectures that support the business needs of a large telecom operator. This role involves managing complex technical teams, driving IT service management processes, and communicating with top management. While the focus is on Telecom IT systems, knowledge of telecom networks (GSM) will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership: Manage and oversee Telecom IT projects focused on BSS systems such as OCS, CRM, Interconnect, Mediation, and Billing.
• Technical IT Management: Supervise the integration and optimization of BSS systems, ensuring seamless communication across various platforms.
• Managed Services Oversight: Manage Managed Services contracts, monitor compliance with complex SLAs, and ensure timely delivery of services.
• Telecom IT Architecture: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable Telecom IT architectures that support BSS processes.
• Change Management: Implement and manage change control processes within IT environments, ensuring system upgrades, patches, and changes are executed efficiently and with minimal disruption.
• ITIL and Service Management: Ensure the adoption of ITIL and IT Service Management best practices across all technical operations and service delivery.
• Team Leadership: Lead technical teams across different disciplines, providing guidance on BSS solutions and IT infrastructure.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for client communications, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.
• Collaboration with Top Management: Report to top management on project progress, risks, and opportunities, while collaborating closely with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

• Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in telecom IT project management, focusing on BSS systems.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong technical expertise in BSS systems (OCS, CRM, Interconnect, Mediation, Billing) and IT system integration.
• Managed Services: Extensive experience managing Managed Services contracts with large telecom operators, including complex SLAs.
• ITIL Expertise: Deep understanding of ITIL frameworks and IT Service Management best practices.
• Telecom IT Architecture: Proven experience in designing and managing Telecom IT architectures, particularly in the BSS domain.
• Change Management: Demonstrated ability to manage IT change processes and ensure minimal disruption to services.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Skills:

• GSM Network Knowledge: Familiarity with GSM network architecture is an advantage (preferred skill).
• Experience with Large Telecom Operators: Experience working with large telecom operators or similar clients is a plus (preferred skill).
