Job Description

The objective of the role: As a technical support engineer, you will be providing in-depth technical support to customers and will be focused on installing, troubleshooting, and debugging storage devices and related components. Support incidents can range from various hardware and/or software issues with storage systems and solutions to multi-system, multi-vendor, and multi-network interoperability issues. What do you do as a technical support engineer? ● Resolve technical customer issues in person, over the phone, by mail, and in remote sessions. ● Research customer issues in a timely manner and follow up directly with customers on recommendations and action plans. ● Collaborate with or escalate cases to other technical support engineers and/or escalation engineers when the problem is too complex or falls out of your specific area of expertise and quickly facilitate solutions for customers. ● Troubleshoot difficult technical issues with a strong commitment to delivering an excellent customer service experience. ● Learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment. ● Adjust work routines to accommodate after-hours implementations and on-call requirements. ● Travel for a mission to other cities inside the country (maximum mission time would be 1 to 3 days).

Requirements

● Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, and with good problem-solving skills. ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering, or related fields. ● At least three years of experience as a system administrator and at least two years of experience in maintaining and installing mid-range storage systems such as HP, EMC, or other vendors. ● Good administration experience to install, configure and maintain midsize or enterprise storage systems. ● Good administration experience to perform server installations, configurations, and troubleshooting. ● In-depth understanding of storage protocols such as FC/iSCSI/NFS/ and FC switches and zoning configuration, RAID levels. ● Familiarity with Veritas Backup Exec or NetBackup, Veeam, and other backup solutions. ● Solid knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, SQL, and basic knowledge of performance monitoring tools. ● Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, IPsec, VPN, TLS, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, SSL, Telnet, etc.). Qualification in Cisco CCNA would be an advantage. ● Upper intermediate level skills of English proficiency and good written/reading skill is a must (excellent written and verbal communication in English is preferred). Other qualifications (preferred): ● Linux environments. ● Familiar with storage resilience, and replication technologies. ● Knowledge of the following technologies, while not required, is beneficial: EMC VNX, recover point, unity arrays, brocade 6505, 6510, FC HBA. ● Experience in installation, troubleshooting of tape libraries, and knowledge of tape technologies.
