Technology Director (Social Commerce) | Digikala Group

Job Description

We are building a next-generation social commerce venture as a subsidiary of Digikala Group, combining startup agility with the scale and ecosystem of the region’s leading e-commerce group. We are looking for a hands-on Technology Director who enjoys building products from zero to one and scaling them.

Role:
As Technology Director, you will own the technical direction of our platform, shape the engineering strategy, define architecture, make key technology decisions, mentor and grow the engineering team, and actively contribute across backend, frontend, infrastructure and system design. You will also drive a modern, AI-enabled engineering culture, promoting the effective use of AI-powered tools and vibe coding practices to enhance developer productivity, code quality and team velocity.

Key Responsibilities:
• Define system architecture and engineering standards.
• Lead backend development in Go.
• Collaborate on modern frontend architecture.
• Design scalable APIs and microservices.
• Build secure, reliable and observable systems.
• Own the technical success of the platform from architecture through production.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical coaching.
• Partner with Product, Design and QA.
• Drive CI/CD and engineering best practices.
• Drive engineering excellence by evaluating and adopting modern AI technologies, developer tools and engineering practices that improve productivity, code quality and delivery speed.

Required Qualifications:
• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years leading technical teams.
• Strong Go experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ/NATS), REST, gRPC.
• Experience designing distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of React, TypeScript, Next.js, modern JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, state management (Redux/Zustand/Context), component architecture, frontend performance, API integration and frontend build tooling (Vite/Webpack).
• Familiarity with Node.js ecosystem is a plus.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Nginx, CDN, object storage, caching, load balancing, monitoring and logging.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, CI/CD.
• Understanding of testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E).
• Strong system design skills.
• Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows to improve software delivery and developer productivity.
