Job Description

  • To provide input on advanced radio network features and other BSS software to purchase and implement by doing trials on new features and functionality.
  • To review site relocations and comment on new locations based on available information and performance to ensure coverage, quality, and capacity are not compromised.
  • To support the manager to set and monitor Network quality KPIs for the Radio vendors.
  • To support the maintenance and development of optimization tools that require active usage, active reporting bug, and test functionalities, and give efficient functionalities proposal for implementation.
  • To support the Radio Support team to cover CRA Commitment in fulfilling obligations and fixing customer complaints.
  • To ensure radio optimization KPIs are met and proper action is taken in this regard.
  • To maintain and/or improve the radio network QoS and GoS including but not limited to accessibility, mobility, quality, and retain-ability.
  • To conduct analysis and perform automatic frequency/PSC/PCI planning to improve the radio network QoS.
  • To coordinate network optimization procedures and guidelines with other departments and groups (Planning group, TX, Core, Implementation, and Operations) to ensure consistency and integrity across the network.
  • To stay abreast of the trend technologies to adapt optimization and frequency strategies for new emerging technologies, and research, investigate, test, evaluate, and implement 2G,3G, 4G, and 5G features and processes for network quality improvement without compromising its profitability.
  • To ensure interworking between technologies is optimized and neighbor relations of different 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies are defined correctly and are audited. Also, to ensure settings are optimized for optimum inter-technology working.
  • To ensure all databases that are affected by optimization activities are updated and regular discrepancy checks are being done.
  • To constantly review RF installation design to ensure its effectiveness, cover new potential areas, and issue re-design orders that will satisfy all market demands while delivering a satisfactory return on investment considering the cost of installation, market requirements, expected traffic, environmental management legislation, and knowledge of the existing radio network.
  • To identify required upgrades to ensure that enough capacity is available on the RAN nodes to cater for the required demand of both CS and PS.
  • To identify and follow up on all down sites with responsible teams for recovery.
  • To follow up on customer complaints raised from different sources and resolution by optimization activities and planning requirements.
  • To follow the trouble tickets process for faulty BSS hardware identifications through vendors and MS.
  • To monitor and optimize temporary Sites (COW/COL) which are used in seasonal/events to ensure the optimum services are given to subscribers.
