Job Description

Nikoo International School is seeking a passionate and experienced literature teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching literature to students across various grade levels (primary, middle, and high school), fostering a love for reading, promoting critical thinking, and enhancing students' communication and analytical skills. We are looking for educators who can create engaging lessons that explore diverse literary works, genres, and cultural perspectives, aligned with international curriculum standards.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging literature lessons that develop students' reading comprehension, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Design assessments, projects, and activities to evaluate and enhance student understanding of literary texts.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions that encourage students to express their ideas and explore different perspectives.
  • Incorporate various teaching methods and technologies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Guide students in developing strong writing skills through essays, creative writing, and literary analyses.
  • Monitor and report student progress to parents, guardians, and school administration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary learning experiences and curriculum development.
  • Participate in school events, professional development programs, and extracurricular literary activities.
  • Organize and support literature-related events such as book clubs, poetry readings, and writing competitions.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that supports student growth.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, or a related field (a Master’s degree is preferred).

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of teaching experience in literature or related subjects (international school experience is an advantage).

Certifications:

  • Valid teaching certification or equivalent educational qualification.
  • CELTA, TESOL, or equivalent certifications (preferred for English-medium instruction).

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of literary works, genres, and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a passion for literature.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and digital platforms to enhance learning.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons.
