Job Description

Account Manager (Vegetable seeds division)

Position Summary: The role involves driving market intelligence, sales, and business planning strategies while ensuring seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The focus is on achieving sales growth, fostering strong customer relationships, and contributing to product development and marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Intelligence
- Analyze and report annually to the Regional Crop Lead and Business Manager on market potential changes by crop and country to guide long-term strategies.
- Provide insights on competition tactics, organization, pricing, and policies as significant changes occur.
- Monthly analysis of direct customer performance (sales, stocks, market share, and wallet share) and quarterly reviews of indirect key customer performance.
- Collaborate with Area Customer Marketing to set sales targets, develop action plans, and review progress quarterly.
2. Sales
- Review monthly sales forecasts for the current and following year, highlighting opportunities and risks.
- Regularly visit direct customers, process orders, and monitor deliveries with Customer Service teams.
- Develop and execute promotional and trial activities for priority crops, supported by Product Development and Regional Crop Leads.
- Strategically plan and implement mid- and long-term tactics for growth in priority crops.
- Monitor and review direct customer sales, stocks, and future order requirements monthly.
3. Business Planning & Coordination
- Annually prepare a resource plan aligned with company strategy for discussion with management.
- Propose variety elevation and registration plans for approval by Regional Crop Leads.
- Collaborate on country and crop marketing plans with Area Customer Marketing and Regional Crop Leads.
- Build and maintain networks with key stakeholders (e.g., agriculture ministries, seed companies, grower associations).
- Foster an international network for knowledge development and growth.
