Position: Deputy CEO;
Reporting to: CEO;

Company Overview:

GEP Group (“GEP”) is a leading energy developer focusing exclusively on solar PV. Its vision is to achieve the lowest cost of solar energy. GEP is led by a dynamic transnational executive team and commenced operations in Iran seven years ago. It has a total installed and grid-connected capacity of 4x10 MWp running solar farms in Khusf, Kourdeh, Majlesi, and Narmashir, and it expects to connect multiple 3MWs and >10 MW in Iran from 2024 onwards. We are highly focused on cutting-edge large technology, optimized project costing, and efficient design and project time management, whilst at the same time being passionate about quality and performance.

Position Overview:

To assist the CEO in providing strategic leadership for GEP, ensuring that our services are delivered to the highest standards of quality and performance, fulfilling our mission and core values, and leading by example. Working alongside the CEO to establish strong partnership links, and act as the ‘face’ of the organization for representative and stakeholder functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of the senior management team to prepare strategic plans and budgets.
  • To prepare and present (as required) board papers and reports to enable the board to effectively govern the organization.
  • To ensure the establishment of mechanisms for listening to the views of those we support, stakeholders, and the local community to inform new developments to respond to unmet needs and to develop both business and development Plans in conjunction with the CEO and senior management team.
  • To develop relationships to deliver the organization’s ambitions and provide support to the CEO and senior management team to secure contracts and grants from funding bodies.
  • To create and maintain conditions that facilitate all verticals in the division to achieve their top and bottom-line objectives.

Leadership and Representation:

  • To lead by example and display the personal drive and energy required to motivate staff within the organization.
  • To build relationships with staff and all stakeholders especially parents of children in education.
  • To ensure that clarity is retained by ensuring all behavior reflects the values Mission and objectives of the GEP.
  • To ensure that organizational change is managed in a restorative and positive manner, providing direction and leadership to Senior Managers and teams as appropriate.

Reporting and Accountability:

  • To report to the CEO and proactively engage in reflective supervision.
  • To deputize for the CEO, leading on key partnerships.
  • To report and contribute to the GEP Board, Senior Management Team, and Strategic Groups as appropriate.
  • To liaise with the Senior Management Team regarding the overall financial arrangements of all the operational services ensuring relevant budgets are adhered to.
  • To contribute to strategic forums and work in partnership with stakeholders.

 Qualifications:

  • Leadership/management qualification is desirable
  • At least 3 years of managerial years within a small/medium-sized organization in the private sector. Ideally, this experience will include experience of:
  1. Financial planning, general management, and control of Human Relations management.
  2. Organizational development and managing change.
  3. Leadership experience and knowledge.
  • Ability to provide strong and effective leadership and direction to staff and demonstrate team management skills that motivate and inspire staff.
  • Understanding and appreciation for the culture and environment associated with managing an organization, as well as the developments and challenges facing the sector in the future.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and a clear understanding of corporate governance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • An MBA degree is highly preferable.
  • Experience in the solar industry or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven track record of leadership, strategy development, and business growth.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy markets, technologies, and policies.
  • Experience in manufacturing, installation, or project development.
  • Knowledge of energy storage, grid management, and smart technologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Team player with a focus on the achievement of corporate goals.
  • High standard of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Fluent in English – business communication.
