Position Overview:
The head of product category marketing will be responsible for developing and implementing category-specific marketing strategies to increase sales and improve product performance. This role requires a professional with a deep understanding of FMCG product management, retail merchandising, and category strategy development, as well as expertise in assortment optimization, special visual merchandising, and promotional activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Management & Strategy: Lead the design and execution of product category marketing strategies, optimizing category assortments to align with customer needs and maximize sales potential.
- Market Research & Insights: Conduct and interpret market research to drive actionable insights, ensuring that category strategies are data-driven and customer-focused.
- Assortment Optimization: Develop optimized product assortments based on market demand, customer preferences, and sales performance to enhance product relevance and profitability.
- Retail Merchandising & Visual Presentation: Oversee category-specific merchandising strategies, including special visual merchandising efforts that align with brand standards and promote featured products effectively.
- Promotion & Advertising: Design and implement targeted promotional campaigns to drive category sales, including product launches, in-store promotions, and advertising initiatives.
- Product Management & Analytics: Apply strong product management principles and analytical insights to drive decision-making and improve category performance metrics.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team dedicated to product category marketing, fostering an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience in product category management, with a proven record of success in FMCG product management, market insights, and retail marketing strategies.
- A Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field from a reputable university is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficient in FMCG product management, market research, and category-specific marketing strategies.
- Strong knowledge of retail assortment optimization, merchandising, and promotional activities.
- Exceptional analytical foundation with experience in using data to drive decisions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
