The regional sales manager is responsible for overseeing the daily and long-term operations of a company's vendors across a geographic region. As a regional sales manager, you will often be responsible for setting and adjusting sales goals based on deep knowledge of individual vendors' selling patterns. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing the training of managers in the region s/he is responsible for.

Responsibilities:

  • Create area sales plans and quotas in alignment with business objectives.
  • Support area sales manager with day-to-day operations.
  • Evaluate area sales managers' and sales specialists' performances and targets.
  • Report on vendor acquisition director results.
  • Forecast quarterly and annual profits.
  • Identify hiring needs, and select and train new salespeople.
  • Prepare and review the annual budget for the area of responsibility.
  • Analyze regional market trends and discover new growth opportunities.
  • Address potential problems and suggest prompt solutions.
  • Participate in decisions for expansion or acquisition.
  • Suggest new services/products and innovative sales techniques to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Implement new sales strategies and techniques and provide training on them to other agents.
  • Prepare regular reports and conduct monthly meetings to review performance.
  • Identify new customers, as well as up-selling to existing customer bases across the region.
  • Manage and drive the sales cycle from prospection through to successful closure (mentor managers).
  • Communicate and manage external stakeholders such as unions, governing bodies, and top vendors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in all fields of study or having equivalent experience.
  • Educated people in sales management, marketing, administration, and engineering are of higher priority.
  • Proven work experience as a regional sales manager, area manager, or similar senior sales roles.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a high-performance sales team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Availability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and other staff members.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, and Excel.
