Job Description

As a senior payroll specialist at Alibaba Travels Co., you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the payroll and administrative aspects of the human resources function.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, including the calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and benefits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, typically every month, and make payroll adjustments and corrections as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and labor laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, including forms and other necessary documentation.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Manage and maintain payroll systems, including updates and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with IT and HRIS teams to implement and test system upgrades or changes.
  • Act as the point of contact for payroll-related questions from employees and management.
  • Resolve payroll disputes and respond to queries regarding payroll policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline payroll processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in employment laws and regulations and ensure team compliance.
  • Help in implementing HR administrative processes and procedures.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned by HR management.

Requirements

  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources Management, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in payroll, with at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., Rahkaran).
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
