About the job:

This position will manage construction projects to review design and bidding documents, evaluate contractor bids, and oversee construction progress and scheduling. Additionally, the construction project manager provides technical support to the engineering team and will report to the manufacturing manager. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently but should work closely with the project supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Engage and/or coordinate with architects, engineers, and designers to prepare bid documents for projects including coordinating special systems drawings with all divisions/consultants and with all other stakeholders and phase move and pulse:

  • Provide project team leadership throughout construction project development.
  • Provide construction estimates throughout the project development.
  • Coordinate and develop construction project schedules.
  • Coordinate and secure all construction project-related contracts through procurement and/or legal department(s).
  • Provide quality control by monitoring the construction process.
  • Perform project management and owner’s representative responsibilities.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and scope within approved limits.
  • Interface and maintain a positive relationship (Danone Behaviors) with architects, client staff, property managers, and vendors.
  • Ensure vendor service levels are met and verify they comply with master agreements.
  • Review contractor documentation including correspondence, insurance, bonds, submittal data, clarification requests, and close-out documentation.
  • Review contractor change proposals and applications for payment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Construction Management, Architecture, or Civil Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in project management, especially construction projects.
  • Experience in wastewater treatment construction.

Experience and Knowledge in the Following Matters:

  • Contractor management.
  • Project delivery.
  • Predesign and preconstruction.
  • Building codes.
  • Microsoft Office skills including Excel, word, project, AutoCAD, MS Project, and construction software.
  • Risk management.
  • Negotiation.
  • Budgeting.
  • Project management.
  • Building structure design calculation and soil structure analysis.
