Job Description
Role Overview:
The SMD (Secondary Manufacturing Division) production manager is responsible for overseeing the production process within SMD, which includes managing complex Maker and Packer machinery used to produce high-quality cigarette packets. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Supervision: Direct and manage all aspects of SMD operations, focusing on the assembly and production of cigarette packets utilizing sophisticated Maker and Packer machines to meet the production plan.
- Meet the production main KPIs including production quantity and variable costs by increasing productivity and reducing waste.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team, including line leaders, process leaders, maintenance leaders, Electrician Managers, packer technicians, and operators, ensuring high performance and accountability.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize production metrics and KPIs to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promote a culture of safety among the team, and conduct regular audits and safety meetings.
- Training and Development: Assess training requirements and implement development plans to enhance workforce skills and knowledge related to SMD operations.
- Troubleshooting: Proactively identify production issues and negotiate solutions, employing tools and methodologies from Integrated Work Systems (IWS) and lean manufacturing principles.
- Reporting: Provide regular performance updates and reports to the Production Manager, highlighting production achievements, challenges, and potential improvements.
- Change Initiatives: Drive and lead improvement initiatives in production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall quality.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and team management skills to effectively lead and motivate production teams.
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience using data-driven approaches.
- Thorough understanding of quality control processes, production workflows, and safety standards specific to cigarette manufacturing.
- Familiarity with IWS (Integrated Work Systems) and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in [specify languages, e.g., Persian and English].
- Proficient in production management software and ERP systems.
