Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the business unit's strategic vision in alignment with the company’s overall goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities, product lines, and partnerships to ensure growth and market competitiveness.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, healthcare professionals, and regulatory authorities.

Operational Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the business unit team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Oversee the development of marketing and sales strategies for new and existing pharmaceutical products.
  • Ensure the efficient execution of business plans, budgets, and operational goals.

Financial Accountability:

  • Develop and manage the P&L (Profit & Loss) for the business unit.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share by achieving sales targets and managing expenses.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Sales and Marketing Oversight:

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop effective strategies for product promotion.
  • Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to meet targets.
  • Analyze customer feedback and market dynamics to refine marketing approaches.

Customer Focus:

  • Understand market needs and customer expectations through market research, customer feedback, and competitor analysis.
  • Champion the development and commercialization of innovative products that address unmet medical needs.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and other internal teams to streamline product development and launch processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with global and regional stakeholders, including distributors, healthcare providers, and industry leaders.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks to the business unit's operations or reputation.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes that could impact the business unit.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D), Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Doctor of Medicine (MD), or a related field.
  • At least 10 to 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical product development, marketing, and sales processes.
  • Proven track record in driving business growth, managing P&L, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience in working with regulatory bodies and navigating compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute operational plans effectively.
  • Strong business acumen and decision-making capabilities.
